App Privacy Policy

1. About XT Survey

XT Survey is a professional Android application designed for use with the Xtragen RTK GNSS receiver. It enables surveyors, engineers, and GIS professionals to connect to the Xtragen device over Bluetooth, receive real-time kinematic (RTK) corrections via NTRIP/CORS networks, capture geo-referenced survey points, perform stakeout operations, and export field data in standard formats (CSV, GeoJSON, DXF).

The application does not require a user account to operate. It does not collect analytics, serve advertisements, or transmit personal data to our servers.

2. Data Safety Summary (Google Play)

The following table summarises the information disclosed in the Google Play Data Safety section:

Data is encrypted in transit: Yes (HTTPS for NTRIP/network communications).
Data can be deleted by user: Yes — survey files can be deleted from within the app or via the device file manager. No data is stored on our servers.

3. Permissions Used and Why

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

Required. Cannot be denied without losing core functionality. The primary purpose of XT Survey is precision GNSS surveying. Fine location is used to obtain high-accuracy position data from the connected Xtragen receiver and from the device's internal GNSS chip. Approximate location is used to suggest the nearest NTRIP/CORS mount-point to reduce setup time. Location data is processed locally on the device and is never transmitted to our servers.

ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION

Requested only if you enable the background survey-track recording feature. You will be prompted separately for this permission. Declining this permission disables only background tracking; all other features remain available.

BLUETOOTH / BLUETOOTH_SCAN / BLUETOOTH_CONNECT / BLUETOOTH_ADMIN

Used exclusively to discover, pair, and communicate with the Xtragen RTK receiver over Bluetooth 5.0. No Bluetooth data is transmitted to third parties. The receiver's Bluetooth device address is stored locally on the device to enable automatic reconnection.

INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Used to connect to user-configured NTRIP/CORS correction servers for receiving RTK differential corrections. The app transmits only the standard NMEA GGA sentence (approximate device position) to NTRIP servers as required by the NTRIP protocol. Network state is checked to provide UI feedback when connectivity is lost.

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE & READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (or MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

Used to read and write survey project files to device storage. Survey files remain entirely on your device and are only exported if you deliberately initiate a share or transfer action. On Android 13+, the app uses scoped storage and accesses only its own directory.

WAKE_LOCK

Prevents the device screen and CPU from sleeping during an active survey session to ensure continuous data capture and Bluetooth connectivity.

CAMERA (optional)

If the photo-annotation feature is enabled, the camera is used to attach field photographs to survey points. Photos are stored locally within the project folder. This permission is optional and can be denied; photo annotation will be unavailable but all other features remain unaffected.

4. NTRIP / Third-Party Correction Services

XT Survey allows you to connect to any NTRIP/CORS server of your choice. When you do so:

• Your device IP address and a standard NMEA GGA position sentence (accurate to approximately 100 metres) are transmitted to the NTRIP server as required by the protocol.
• If the NTRIP server requires authentication, your username and password are stored in encrypted form on the device using Android's Keystore system. We never have access to these credentials.
• Xtragen Technologies is not responsible for the data practices of any third-party NTRIP service provider you choose to connect to. Please review their privacy policies separately.

5. Local Data Storage

All survey data, project files, settings, and NTRIP profiles are stored locally on your device. We do not operate cloud synchronisation services and do not have access to your survey data. If you uninstall the application, all app data is deleted unless you have exported your projects to external storage beforehand.

6. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not share, sell, or transfer your personal data to any third party, except:

• Legal compliance: Where required by applicable Indian law or a valid court order.

The application does not contain third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or social media SDKs.

7. Children's Privacy

XT Survey is a professional surveying tool intended for use by adults. The application is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is classified as "Everyone" on the Play Store for maturity, but usage is intended for professional adults. If a parent or guardian believes their child has used the app and that data has been collected, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

8. Data Security

• All network communications (NTRIP, firmware update checks) use TLS/HTTPS encryption.
• Stored NTRIP credentials are protected using the Android Keystore system.
• No user account or server-side database is maintained by Xtragen Technologies.

9. User Rights & Data Deletion

Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is no user account or remote database to delete. Your survey data is entirely on your device. You can:

• Delete individual project files within the app.
• Clear all app data via Android Settings → Apps → XT Survey → Storage → Clear Data.
• Uninstall the app to remove all associated data.
• Request a formal account deletion using our dedicated deletion request form.

Account Deletion: If you wish to formally request that we delete all your account data and records, visit our Delete Account Request page. We will process your request within 7–30 days and provide a confirmation email.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this App Privacy Policy when we add new features or permissions to XT Survey, or when applicable law requires. We will update the "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, provide an in-app notification. Continued use of the application after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

11. Contact & Grievance Officer

This policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from this policy are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.
